Abstract

From the Heart of a Teacher by Maribel Núñez-Méndez (2025) explores the human, emotional, and professional dimensions of teaching in the Dominican Republic. Through a literary and reflective style, the book addresses teacher identity, educational challenges—including the transition to online education during the COVID-19 pandemic—and the role of reflection in teacher education. Combining personal testimony and educational analysis, the work offers a sensitive and critical perspective on the teaching profession in times of change.
