Abstract

The recognition of the importance and role of entrepreneurial education and its influence on the intention to start a business is one of the reasons why academics have a better understanding of how entrepreneurial intentions are constituted and articulated. The main objective of this research is to determine if the university context influences the Entrepreneurial Intention (IE), and secondly to identify the students' perception of the increase in their entrepreneurial skills because of the learning obtained in the courses offered. For this, an analytical, quantitative, and inferential research methodology was used. The validated sample is made up of 282 Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra students, of which 276 are undergraduate and 6 postgraduates. The results of the study showed that there is an influence on the Entrepreneurial Intention (EI) of the students who participated in entrepreneurship courses. Similarly, students perceive that the courses offered by Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra have increased their ability to identify opportunities in the market.
